I have been building resort beach homes on the west end of Galveston island for the past 34 years. I am originally from Houston and came to the island to make Jamaica Beach my home, in which I still reside today. I began as a framer in 1969 and after having several smaller companies I was co-founder and president of Oceanwood Homes, Inc. from the mid 1980's until 1999. At that time, I reestablished my company as Forrest Green Builders, continuing to build custom homes as well as Spec homes and servicing the remodeling and repairs of my long time past customers as well as newly acquired ones. My brother, Sherwood "Woody" Green is a great asset to my company. Everybody loves Woody. He serves as my project manager and public relations director and continuously monitors all on-site building, remodeling and repair jobs. Over the years I have acquired many of my customers as close personal friends. My goal as a builder is to make the building process a smooth and positive experience for the homeowner or prospective buyer.
