Postoffice Street Arts & Entertainment District
2200 Postoffice St.
Galveston, TX77550

The Strand isn't the only street with a unique atmosphere and draw. Venture onto Postoffice Street for an enchanting blend of art galleries, antique shops and chic eateries.

Enter the downtown district at the corner of 25th Street and Harborside. Walk two blocks down 25th and turn left onto Ship's Mechanic Row. To your left is the historic Tremont House hotel.

Farther up 23rd Street, take a left on Postoffice to enjoy a casual stroll through the Historic Arts and Entertainment District. The Postoffice Street restoration of the 1990's revitalized over 25 historic buildings and reinvented the district as a center for arts, entertainment and loft residences. From paintings to sculptures, from folkart to the surreal, Postoffice Street's galleries are enticing in their diversity.

Between galleries, stop for a bite to eat or a refreshing drink at O'Malley's Irish Pub, Mod Coffee House, The Stork Club, Sky Bar, or Rudy & Paco.

Your day isn't complete without a self-guided tour through The Grand 1894 Opera House. The Opera House ranks among the nation's finest historical restorations and was designated as the "Official Opera House of Texas" by the 73rd Legislature.
