| | Sherry | 7/24/2008 3:12:00 AM | I have stayed here three times and the last time was disappointing. They took our clothes and told us to go and check in our room. We checked in and went to our room, which was someone else’s room. I went down and told them the problem. They were polite but had to try and find our clothes. It took about 15 minutes but we did find them before they went to the wrong room. The room we were put in the shower was leaking and the air conditioning vent leaked on your head while sitting on the toilet. The room smelled musty also. We had ordered room service which they were late but again polite. The balcony and chairs were very dirty. Not a 5 star. | | rockie | 7/11/2008 9:00:00 PM | We always stay here when we visit Galveston. We love it! You can't beat the rooms, view, pool, steakhouse, staff, and bar at the San Luis. It is a little pricey, but worth every penny! | | Weekender | 7/5/2008 9:57:00 AM | Overpriced for what you get. Rooms were small, bathrooms were tiny and overall not worth the rate. Lovely pool area, but you can't even bring your own drink to the pool. Everything---and I mean everything---has a price tag. Caters to the pretentious who thinking getting conned out of your money is cool. If that's you, you'll love it. | | kristy haynes | 6/30/2008 2:51:00 PM | This hotel is the best hotel in Galveston. Very accomadating staff, beautiful pool area, outstanding service, excellent food, excellent spa with the best massages,I go every year and we always come back to the San Luis.

kristy from weatherford tx | | DALLAS, TX | 6/29/2008 12:52:00 PM | THIS IS NOT A FOUR (4) STAR HOTEL! TWO (2) STAR AT BEST! ROOMS ARE IN NEED OF UPDATING IN THE WORST WAY...STAFF IS NICE, BUT NOT A PROFESSIONAL HOTEL STAFF - THEY ARE JUST A BUNCH OF COLLEGE AGE KIDS WORKING ON THE WEEKENDS & SUMMER FOR SPENDING MONEY - BUT THE HOTEL HAS PLENTY OF STAFF TO GO AROUND. LOBBY IS NICE BUT NOT GREAT. - FOOD IS GOOD BUT NOT GREAT & IS PRICEY -POOL AREA IS VERY NICE, BUT HOT - NOT MUCH AIR CAN FLOW AROUND POOL ITS BLOCKED BY FOLIAGE. HOTEL IS ACROSS FROM SEA WALL - A GOOD CLIMB UP HILL BACK TO HOTEL AFTER VISIT TO BEACH. THE ONLY REALLY NICE ROOMS ARE ON THE TENTH FLOOR & ITS FOR ADULTS ONLY! I DID EXPRESS MY CONCERNS TO AAA ABOUT THIS HOTELS RATING OF BEING OVER RATED! | | Houston Girl | 6/4/2008 3:49:00 PM | Like the Vegas bar, the new "H2O Pool Bar" is unbelievable & this place rocks! Open-air scenery, unobstructed ocean views, cool outdoor fun in swim-up & walk-up bars, crystal fire pits, clear glass & bright-colored lounge areas to converse or catch up on people-gazing; Packed w/college crowd & grownups but even the younger set enjoyed the pool slide & water games. There's a poolside Princess tent for make-up & mini-manicures. Grown-ups dine on fresh on-site sushi bar treats & cocktails while enjoying outstanding sunsets! Upscale pool cabana rentals have flat-screen HDTV's. Sparkling clean & fresh-Attention to detail whether a sunset cocktail, a poolside massage or fun in the swim-up bar. Go check it out. | | Theresa Boyll | 3/30/2008 1:41:00 PM | Georgeous facility.
